SOMA SALAT-ZAKARIAS 

 

Born in Romania, Soma Salat-Zakariás studied the viola da gamba with Lorenz Duftschmid at the Trossingen University of Music and later at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Paolo Pandolfo, under whose tutelage he obtained his Master in Early Music Performance.

 

In the course of his studies and professional activities, he has collaborated with numerous great musicians, such as Rolf Lislevand, Anthony Rooley, Anton Steck, Alfredo Bernardini, Hervé Niquet, Sigiswald Kuijken, Vittorio Ghielmi, Evelyn Tubb, Randall Cook and Dominique Vellard. He has also participated in master classes offered by Wieland Kuijken, Paolo Pandolfo, Lorenz Duftschmid, Pere Ros and Hille Perl. Soma Salat-Zakariás obtained prizes at the Deutscher Hochschulwettbewerb and the Concorso Internazionale Principe Francesco Maria Ruspoli in Vignanello, and is the founder and the leader of the group The Little Light Consort.
